Virginia Beach, VA/ Jamestown, NC — April 15, 2019. Studio Center and The Design Network are excited to announce their new spring series where Virginia designers Bryan and Kevin Ramsey create luxury makeovers in everyday outdoor spaces. ‘Backyard Staycation’ will launch on TDN Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
On vacation we see the perfect outdoor living space at the hotel or spa with exquisite furniture, firepits, and landscaping. We dream of bringing the luxury environments home with us. In each episode of Backyard Staycation, the Ramsey brothers make dreams come true uncovering their client’s aspirational destination and transforming their backyard into their ideal escape with innovative designs and the highest quality furniture.
Bryan Ramsey is well known on the east coast for his stunning landscape designs, heading up the Virginia landscape design firm, Bryan Ramsey Design. The firm’s work has been recognized in several magazine publications. The combination of Bryan’s design eye and horticulture expertise with the manpower and install lead of Kevin, delivers beautiful results for their clients.
Despite their identical appearances, the brothers have opposite personalities which adds some drama and fun along the way. Kevin explained Bryan’s artistic mind often clashes with his own mechanical mind, but their differing perspectives yield the best results. “I think that’s why we’re so successful at what we do,” said Kevin.“ We have the best of both worlds.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Bryan and Kevin into our cast of home design experts, as our first pros specializing solely in landscape design,” said Jason Harris, founder of The Design Network. “TDN is continuing to expand our series to reveal every facet of living a better life at home. Outdoor living has become so important to our TDN community, and the Ramsey twins have the perfect personalities and expertise to bring these design ideas home in an exciting way.”
Each homeowner’s unique style and vacation inspiration results in spaces that create the experience of their dream vacation, but are infused with their own lifestyles and personalities, all in their Virginia backyard.
“They don’t have degrees in horticulture or landscape design or the skillset to put things together, but they see things on TV, they see things at the places they go, on vacations and they’re like I would love to have that.” Kevin said about their clients. “We put it all together for them. When you see it on paper versus walking out and it’s done and they see it, it blows them away.”
The Design Network’s VP of Programming, Gayle Allen pointed out, “Studio Center Entertainment is Executive Producing, with experience in the home design space and able to tell the story of turning a vacation dream to a backyard oasis.” Allen continued, “and who better to bring your dream destination home than Tropitone Furniture. A sponsor of the series, they’re known for their quality outdoor furniture, specifically designed for any poolside, garden, patio, deck, balcony, fireside, or sunroom.”
“Backyard Staycation” is being produced for The Design Network by Studio Center Entertainment. William Prettyman and, Katlyn Wilson will serve as Executive Producers.

Recently Butch Maier from Inside Business sat down with William Prettyman, Christine Jones and Malina Finan of the Studio Center Entertainment team, for a little Q & A about their new programming venture.
"Will you only produce unscripted shows or are you going to leave the door open for scripted? Or it's just too expensive?
William "Woody" Prettyman, Studio Center CEO: I leave the door open for anything, and I'll tell you why: I've been approached with 15 scripts for documentary movies. I'd lean more to the documentary at some point because it could be a passion thing if I found something I love or hit home, if it's someone I love.
What do you have planned?
Christine Cipriani Jones, Studio Center Entertainment vice president: It runs the gamut. Unscripted encompasses a lot of different types of shows. There's reality, docuseries - which can differ from reality - competition, cooking, docudrama, which encompasses some re-creations.
Can you say how many shows you have set up?"
